For over 65 years, Sheep Mountain Lodge has hosted travelers from across Alaska and around the world. The Lodge is located along the scenic Glenn Highway halfway between the towns of Palmer and Glennallen. Our guests enjoy spectacular mountain views, local outdoor recreational activities, cabins with private bath and showers, delicious home cooked meals, and old fashioned Alaskan hospitality that has made Sheep Mountain Lodge famous. Extensive decks, greenhouses and flower gardens compliment the scenery. You can watch Dall Sheep through our telescope, read on the deck of your cabin or relax in the hot tub after a day of traveling or hiking.
Your hosts, lifelong Alaskans Zack and Anjanette Steer, welcome you to their home in the wilderness. The Steers have been owner/operators of Sheep Mountain Lodge since 2000. Their local knowledge and hospitality will make your stay especially memorable. Anjanette is a devoted birder and botanist. The gardens and flowers located throughout the Lodge property are a product of her love and attention. Zack is an avid outdoorsman and “Zack”-of-all-trades as necessitated in the Lodge business. Both Zack and Anjanette have completed the 1000-mile Iditarod Sled Dog Race. They have 2 children who enjoy life in Alaska to the fullest.
