Production Baker (1) – Make homemade baked goods in bulk.

Do you love to see people smile as they enjoy a fresh-baked good? Then this is the position for you. Duties include scratch baking of dinner breads, pies, cinnamon rolls, cookies, cakes, scones and muffins. This person must be able to share the kitchen with other employees and keep up with the ever-present baker’s mess! Your focus is high-quality scratch baking in a semi-production atmosphere but there will be times when you need to be able and willing to help out where needed.  Other duties can include dish-washing, food preparation, serving, and light housekeeping.  This position requires baking experience (home -baking ok), familiarity with a commercial kitchen and an Alaska State Foodworker card (available on-line). Approximately 25 hours week is spent baking and 15-20 hours a week helping out with dish-washing, customer service and Lodge staff responsibilities.   Lodge owner, Anjanette, teaches the Lodge Baker how to master beautiful pie crusts from our fool-proof pie dough recipe and how to make our world renown strawberry-rhubarb pie, 4 -8 at a time.

From $9.50/hr + tip share or salary offered to experienced bakers.  The Baker starts at 6:30am and enjoys 1 hour of quiet work time in the kitchen before breakfast service begins.   No two days will be the same and you will work hard with other staff to keep up with the demand for fresh-baked goods.   Must be in good physical condition with the ability to work all day on your feet with some lifting – flour sacks weigh 50 lbs.

We had the most wonderful time at your lodge, I’ve already recommended it as a getaway to a few couples in town and we want to thank you for a beautiful dinner too.
